Apple Inc. or Apple Computer, Inc., is an American multinational corporation which designs and sells consumer electronics, personal computers, operating systems and softwares. This firm is unique in providing a product designed from beginning to end, whether software or hardware level.
History of Apple
Founded in 1976 in Cupertino, its history is closely linked to that of Steve Jobs (co-founder of Apple, if you want to learn more about Steve Jobs, you can read our article: Who is Steve Jobs?). Steeve Jobs was forced to quit the firm in 1985 for unknown reasons and was rehired in 1996. A few months after his rehabilitation, Steve Jobs has wanted to change the Apple logo to bring it in color.
Product
Apple products are considered to be easy to use and sleek. This minimalism is found in all the range of Apple devices. Another common feature is their ecosystem: all products are connected to each other and automatically exchange informations.
The Imac
The Imac, which has probably helped Apple to return to the front of the stage, managed to get out of the classics issued by the competing brands. The design of the machine leaves the color beige tone to make a blue sky design by Steve Jobs and Jonathan Ive. Apple will invest in this new machine more than 110 million dollars for advertising only.
The iMac has evolved over the years, the 2009 version will even climb up to 2.93 GHz with 1333 MHz RAM. But the prices also skyrocketed, increasing nearly 200 euros for each new version …
The iPhone
The iPhone, one of the flagship products of Apple, was just a rumor based on the fact that Apple was the owner of the domain: iphone.org, so this rumor has lasted over three years. It was clear that if Apple released a phone and name it after the release of the iMac, iBook and iPod. In August 2002, the NY Times announces the release of the iPhone likely to discover a prototype, most newspapers speculating on the new phone from Apple that had then filed the trademark in over 15 countries. But it will then wait until January 2006 in order to see the first iPhone, a revolution by some as a useless object to others … If you want to learn more about Ios and the iphone, you can read our article: what is Ios?.
Ipod
Like the Iphone, the Ipod has sold over 60 million units per year. There are several different Ipods that can be classified into two distinct categories: the iPod touch also called Itouch and Ipod classic like a simple mp3 player. I let you appreciate the iPod evolution and the designs which change throughout the ages:
